Motion Studies
A collection of short motion design studies exploring animation principles, logo movement, timing, and visual rhythm. These exercises helped build foundational skills in After Effects, including squash and stretch, rough cut animation, and animated brand marks.

problem
The challenge was to build a stronger understanding of motion design by practicing different animation techniques, timing, and movement styles across several short exercises.
solution
I created a series of motion studies that explored animation principles, logo movement, pacing, and visual rhythm. Each piece helped strengthen my skills in After Effects while showing how movement can bring simple visuals to life.

The process began with experimenting in After Effects and practicing how movement can change the feeling of a design. I explored timing, pacing, squash and stretch, transitions, and simple animated forms to better understand how motion can guide attention and create energy.
Together, these studies show the foundation of my motion design process. Through repetition, experimentation, and refinement, I developed a stronger understanding of how animation can bring static visuals to life and create more engaging digital experiences.

Logo Animation Two
This motion design homework explored how a logo can be brought to life through animation, timing, and visual transitions. The piece focuses on creating movement around a brand mark while practicing pacing, composition, and simple effects in After Effects.
.After Effects
Motion Study
A final motion design project exploring animation, timing, and visual composition through a complete animated sequence. This piece brings together the motion principles practiced throughout the project, including pacing, transitions, and visual rhythm.
.AE
Principles of Animation and UI Animation.
A short motion design exercise exploring timing, movement, and visual rhythm through animated composition. This study focuses on practicing how motion can guide attention and create energy within a simple sequence.
.After Effects
Puppet Tool & Squash and Stretch Practice
A motion design study exploring the Puppet Tool and squash and stretch animation principles. This exercise focuses on creating flexible movement, playful distortion, and stronger motion timing within a simple animated sequence.
